Youth Development

In the past decade, Scottish rugby has implemented an impressive youth development system called The Pathway program. This was great news for Scottish rugby as new, young players would have to opportunity to progress to their full potential and in turn boost the overall performance of the national team. We can see that very clearly in the from of a few of the new stars that scotland have shown off, in particular Stuart Hogg.

The lighting quick full back, at only 20 years of age, has shown some impressive form recently scoring trys that the All Blacks would be proud of. The youngster has racked up a total of 20 points scoring his first try against France. Hogg could be a possibility for this years lions tour according to Duncan Hodge, one of the Scotland coaches. This kind of raw talent that we can see in Hogg is very exciting for the average scottish rugby fan. Hopefully there will be more talent like Hogg and Scotland can become one of the more respected teams in the Northern Hemisphere.   http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/rugby/scotland-coach-duncan-hodge-urges-1719738
